Did you know women in the construction industry earn 99.1% of what their male counterparts make?
On the positive side, women have inclined their interest and opportunities in the skilled trades industry by 71%. Since March, a survey of 700 women found that 59% said their level of work remained the same. 32% of women mentioned that their level of work hours increased during the pandemic.
This gives women in construction an advantage over women in other fields, such as retail and hospitality, struggling to retain their jobs during COVID-19. Rather than scrambling to get back during the pandemic, many women in construction are at ease and confronted with job stability.
