Course Description:
This comprehensive course is specifically tailored to prepare Traffic Control Persons (TCPs) with the essential knowledge and skills required to uphold safety in construction zones and areas necessitating traffic control in Ontario. It covers foundational requirements for TCPs in the construction industry, aligning with key regulations such as The Ontario Traffic Manual – Temporary Conditions – Book 7- 2022 Edition, the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, and Ontario Regulation 213/91: Construction Projects.
While this course provides valuable generic information, employers bear the responsibility of ensuring that workers receive training tailored to their workplace-specific hazards, policies, and procedures. Before becoming TCPs, individuals must complete mandatory prerequisite training focused on OTM Book 7 for Ontario roadway work. Employers must verify workers’ completion of this training and assess their field-level competency, which may involve a combination of this e-learning course, OTM Book 7 training, and on-site evaluations. Ultimately, this course equips TCPs and their employers with the necessary knowledge and tools for effective and safe traffic control in Ontario.Top of Form
